First-Grade Aborigines

Friday, June 5th, was dedicated to Clyde Erwin's staff and students sharing the world with each other. The morning began with performances from Kindergarten and First-Grade. This was followed up by visits to the other grade levels and four other stations that showcased global learning that has happened over the course of the school year. Here are the countries that students were able to experience:
Kindergarten - United States
First Grade - Australia
Second Grade - Brazil, highlighting the Amazon Rainforest
Third Grade - Ghana; Morocco
Fourth Grade - Italy & United Kingdom
Fifth Grade - Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean through literature; also shared Wars and their impact on the world
Station 1: China - presented by Ms. Russell and Mrs. Darner
Station 2: Panwapa - Mrs. Pettit shared this safe and friendly website that allows kids to talk to kids around the world - http://www.panwapa.com/
Station 3: Mexico - presented by Mr. Crawford and Mr. Mabry
Station 4: World Cultures - Nation Station activities and inquiries such as how schools are different and alike around the world
The conclusion of the day brought us back into the auditorium for a spectacular performance by our Chorus. This was followed by the tribal beats of our African Drumming Corps, who were accompanied by energetic dancers.
