As part of Clyde Erwin's ongoing service learning project to honor our military and their families on a monthly basis, the students and staff opened their hearts and creativity to make Valentine cards for troops serving in Afghanistan and for the Wounded Warriors Battalion at Camp Lejeune. This project began with Veterans' Day, with a special program and breakfast for the families of our students and staff who serve our country. In December, CEEM students and staff donated items for stockings sent to troops in Iraq. Additionally, books were purchased on behalf of our Clyde Erwin family from Barnes and Noble for the U.S.O.'s project that videotapes mothers and fathers going on deployment reading the book for their child. The book and videotape are given to the child to have their parent with them even though they are thousands of miles away.
