Students, parents, and the community were greeted with enthusiasm and excitement for the start of a new school year at the Open House held on Thursday, August 23, from 11 - 2. Families were treated to a hot dog lunch provided by the school. Over 338 families participated in this event. In our auditorium, families were able to meet our DARE officer, Daisy Haywood, as well as learn about cafeteria and bus information. Also in the auditorium, booths were set up for Exceptional Children, Title I Services, and Guidance. Being civic-minded, Clyde Erwin had a community volunteer come in to register people to vote - 13 people took advantage of this opportunity and registered! Clyde Erwin prides itself in being very service-action! Staff children who were here during the workdays and are Clyde Erwin students, saw that teachers were getting rid of many books and decided to hold a book sale for charity. These students raised over $75.00.
